This month Warren Shire Council launches its Women of Warren Shire series, featuring many talented women from across the region.

The series will profile one local woman each month to share her story, provide insights into life in Warren and highlight her impact on the shire community.

Warren Shire Council General Manager, Mr Gary Woodman, says the series is a way to recognise the huge contribution these individuals make to Warren Shire.

“There are incredible people doing amazing things in Warren Shire and this series is an opportunity to showcase the women who are making a difference to our community,” says Mr Woodman.

“We have local women who have created innovative businesses, are supporting arts and culture, and providing opportunities to our youth through workshops, activities and sport. There are stories of women making an impact all over the shire.”

“This series is a way to recognise our local women, showcase the diverse range of talent that exists in Warren Shire, grow our regional profile and continue to build a real sense of pride in our community”.

Frances Evans, renowned Violinist and Artistic Director of this year’s inaugural Warren Chamber Music Festival, will be the first Women of Warren Shire to be profiled. Ms Evans is thrilled to kick off the series and has a long list of women she plans to nominate.

“There are countless indefatigable, inspired and hard-working women in and around the Warren Shire who are putting special things together. It may be food, entertainment, learning materials, craft, agriculture, data analysis, art and design…this list could be endless,” says Ms Evans.

“There is cause to celebrate these women and their important support crews. Some are seen, some are hidden, they are all making a marvellous difference in our time and in our place”.

The Women of Warren Shire series launches this month and will be featured across all Council communication platforms including FacebookLinkedIn and the monthly Council newsletter, and distributed to all local and regional media outlets.
