From the Mayor's Desk - Council News, Christmas Edition

We are fast approaching the end of another year and can rightly reflect with some degree of satisfaction on what has been achieved during 2023, ranging from a significant amount of flood repair work on our roads to the installation of the often asked for public amenities in the CBD and at Lions Park.

The Warren Street Christmas Party was a fantastic night which, despite the heat, was extremely well supported. My thanks to all the business houses who made not insignificant financial contributions to ensure that the fireworks were again possible this year. That the night was such a success is testament to all those involved.

Looking ahead, I’d like to remind residents that nominations are closing soon for the 2024 Australia Day Awards. Nominations close on Thursday 11 January 2024 and this is your chance to recognise the citizens and the events that contribute to our sense community and make our community one to be proud of.

On behalf of Councillors and staff, I would like to wish everyone living in our shire or visiting our shire a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We hope you have a happy and safe holiday season, and look forward in 2024 to continue making the Warren Shire an even better place to live and work.

Clr Milton Quigley
MAYOR
