From the Mayor's Desk - October Council News

First and foremost, I’d like to take this opportunity to say that I am extremely pleased to be re-elected as the Mayor of Warren Shire. It has been a great honour and privilege to represent our community and I look forward to continuing to do so for another year.

I would also like to extend my congratulations to Councillor Sarah Derrett on her re-election as Deputy Mayor.

Saturday 21 October 2023 brings the highly anticipated opening of the Burrima Boardwalk and I would like to invite all residents, visitors, families and friends to join us for the celebrations.

Additionally, a free mental health workshop is being held on Thursday 19 October 2023, which I highly encourage all business owners and staff to attend. With changes in legislation making it a legal requirement for businesses to address psychosocial hazards, this workshop is a great resource for implementing tools and techniques to protect employee mental health.

Renovations are soon to be underway at Warren Shire Library, with a temporary library service currently being sought to operate out of the old tourist information centre in Burton Street, Warren.

I am also pleased to report that the new accessible amenities at the Warren Pony Club at the Showground Racecourse Complex are officially complete.

Clr Milton Quigley
MAYOR
