Coronavirus Update – Our Advice

While it’s business as usual at Warren Shire Council (WSC), we are listening to advice from the experts and implementing some measures in the workplace that will ensure we maintain a safe workplace for our staff, while minimising the potential for interruptions to our community.

As part of these new measures, we have implemented a new phone system in an attempt to minimise hold times and call durations.

When you call WSC you may be asked to leave a message for general services (payments, general enquiries) or for technical services (engineering, building, planning or animal control). The messages will be directed to the appropriate department and a staff member will return your call as soon as possible.

The process for reporting issues or complaints will remain the same, and as always you can send an email to council@warren.nsw.gov.au

WSC is reducing its face to face contact at public counters and unless critical that a meeting is held in person, the staff will contact you by phone. If a face to face meeting is required, we request that you advise staff of any illness, recent overseas travel, that you are required to be in self isolation or have come in contact with persons who may or suspected of having Coronavirus. Council staff will also offer you the same advice.

Council may be required to reduce its service levels over the disease phase due to staff entering self or forced isolation. We will ensure that water, sewerage and garbage services will be maintained, however we may fall behind on mowing, street cleaning or roadworks. We know you understand and appreciate the seriousness of this pandemic and we hope that our staff and community do not fall subject to the virus.

We encourage all residents and visitors to our community to stay up to date with the latest health advice and information at the Australian Government Department of Health website or NSW Health Website.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
