Warren Celebrates Water Park Opening with Ministerial Visit - Post Image Warren Shire Council and the Shire community has celebrated the official opening of the $608,000 Warren Water Park on Wednesday 10 February.

Warren’s newest recreational asset was funded under Round 3 of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund and was officially opened by the Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women, The Hon. Bronnie Taylor MLC, and the Duty MLC for Barwon, The Hon. Sam Farraway MLC, during a visit to the region.

Mayor of Warren, Councillor Milton Quigley, says he is pleased the Water Park could be officially opened during this visit, and is grateful to the NSW Government for providing the funding for community and recreational assets such as this.

“On behalf of Warren Shire Council and the Warren community, I welcome the visit of Minister Taylor and Mr Farraway MLC to our Shire,” says Mayor Quigley.

“We are very appreciative of the funding provided by both the state and federal governments to enable the development of major regional infrastructure, sporting and recreational facilities that enhance the quality of life for all members of our community.”

During their visit to the Shire, Minister Taylor and Mr Farraway MLC toured a number of other infrastructure assets and community facilities including the Warren Youth Centre and Community Hub, the Victoria Oval Netball Courts, Warren Skate Park and the Warren War Memorial Swimming Pool.

They also met with Warren’s Health Action Committee to discuss ways to coordinate, improve and develop health services in the district, the promotion of health education, and the establishment of a Dementia Specific Unit in Warren.

To complete the visit, the NSW Nationals members hosted a community BBQ at the Nevertire Pub, giving around 60 local residents the opportunity to discuss all of the exciting things happening in Warren with the Minister and Duty MLC.
