Current COVID-19 information and resources - updated 19/08/2021 - Post Image

Due to ongoing concerns about community transmission, stay-at-home orders in place for regional NSW will be extended until at least 12.01am on 28 August, in line with existing orders for the Greater Sydney area.

As of today, Thursday 19 August 2021, there are NO cases of COVID-19 in the Warren Shire Local Government Area. The COVID-19 cases listed on the NSW Health website for the Warren Shire Local Government Area are not local cases as they pertain to people who have Warren as their address on their driver’s license but live elsewhere.

What the current Stay at Home Orders mean

Everyone must stay at home unless they have a reasonable excuse to leave.

A reasonable excuse is if you need to:

  • obtain food or other goods and services locally
  • leave home to go to work if
    • you cannot reasonably work from home  and
    • the business is allowed to be open
  • leave home for education if it is not possible to do it at home
  • exercise and take outdoor recreation in the local government area you live in or if you need to cross into another local government area, limited to 5km from Monday, 16 August 2021
  • go out for medical or caring reasons, including obtaining a COVID-19 vaccination.

Limit your physical contact with people you do not live with. See the restrictions for visitors to a residence

You must carry a face mask with you at all times and wear a face mask when required when you leave your home.

Visit NSW Health for full details of the rules that apply to Warren Shire.

What the Stay at Home Orders mean for local businesses

Some businesses will not be able to open. Importantly, financial support is available. Businesses and individuals can find out if they are eligible by visiting  nsw.gov.au or calling Service NSW on 13 77 88.

For businesses that can remain open, it is critical to have an up-to-date COVID-19 Safety Plan in place, ensure all customers, staff, delivery drivers and contractors check in and out using  electronic check-in systems as required and follow COVID safe behaviours.
